Ethan Skender   1 | Infielder

Ethan Skender joins the Otters after more than three years within the San Diego Padres organization. He spent the beginning of 2022 with the San Antonio Missions, the Double-A club for San Diego. With the Missions, Skender bat .257 with 19 hits across 24 games before hit with an injury. After missing most of the remainder of the season, he spent a few games with the Padres' Arizona Complex League team before the season ended. Skender has a career .270 batting average in his minor league time, tallying 155 hits and 83 RBIs in that time.

Skender was drafted out of high school by the Cincinnati Reds in the 31st round of the 2015 MLB June Amateur Draft but optioned to return to school. After a season with State College of Florida, he was drafted in the 2016 MLB June Amateur Draft by the San Diego Padres in the 28th round.
