Otters add another four newcomers to 2025 roster
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Evansville Otters are excited to announce the signings of a group of newcomers for the 2025 season, including OFs Griffin Arnone and Ty Crittenberger, INF Santino Rosso and RHP Nate Wohlgemuth.
Griffin Arnone, a native of New Canaan, CT, kicks off his professional career this season. After beginning his collegiate career with Elon University, Arnone transferred to Northwestern University following the 2022 season.
In his debut season with Northwestern, Arnone led the team in home runs (9) as he posted a .238 batting average across 45 games. Of his 34 hits in the 2023 season, 19 were for extra bases. In his senior campaign, Arnone collected 37 hits, 12 doubles, two triples and four home runs in route to a .215 batting average in 50 games.
Ty Crittenberger, an outfielder from Lighthouse Point, FL, joins the Otters for his second season in professional baseball, his first as a full-timer. After finishing his collegiate season at the University of Kentucky, Crittenberger played 16 games for the Schaumburg Boomers and five games for the Billings Mustangs (Pioneer League) in 2024. In his first taste of pro ball, Crittenberger had a .214 batting average, with three doubles, a triple and four RBIs while with the Boomers.
Before attending Kentucky, Crittenberger made stops at Polk State College in Winter Haven, FL and Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY. Across three seasons with Western Kentucky, Crittenberger hit for a .289 batting average in 143 games. He committed just nine errors across those three years. In his senior season at Kentucky, Crittenberger hit for a .222 average with a double and two home runs in 23 games as the Wildcats made their first ever appearance in the College World Series.
Santino Rosso hails from Rochester, NY and joins the Otters for his inaugural season of professional baseball. Rosso played for Hofstra University from 2020 to 2024, compiling a five-season batting average of .295 with 225 hits, 48 doubles, six triples, 19 home runs and 133 RBI across 197 career games.
Following his collegiate career, Rosso appeared in the MLB Draft League last summer, playing games for the State College Spikes and Trenton Thunder. In 43 games across both teams, he hit for a .262 batting average and collected nine extra-base hits and 13 RBI.
Nate Wohlgemuth, a native of Owasso, OK, entered the college baseball world in 2021, signing with Arkansas as the top-ranked pitcher in the state of Oklahoma out of high school according to Perfect Game. Wohlgemuth found his way to Rogers State University in 2023, where he would finish his collegiate career. In two years with the Hillcats of Rogers State, Wohlgemuth had a 8.84 ERA across 76.1 innings.
