RECAP | Otters battle, end up short in FLCS Game Three

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Sept. 25, 2026) - The Evansville Otters (1-2) fell in Game Three of the Frontier League Championship Series against the Ottawa Titans (2-1) on Friday night, 8-6.

Anthony Tomczak made his third start of 2026 and second of the postseason against Evan Grills for Ottawa.

After trading zeroes in the first inning, the Otters struck first in the top of the second inning, bringing in two runs thanks to two errors from the Ottawa defense.

The Titans would retaliate and score three runs in the bottom half to make it 3-2. Evansville got their lead back in the top of the third on two RBI singles from LG Castillo and Sam Linscott to make it 4-3.

The Titans responded yet again with four runs in the bottom half to put them up by three runs.

Both teams would trade runs in the fifth inning to make it 8-5, with the Otters bringing a run across in the sixth inning to make it 8-6.

Chase Kriebel struck out five in three innings of work out of the bullpen, matching his season-high strikeout total. Joe Morrissey came in after him and retired all seven batters he faced.

Evansville was held scoreless in the last three frames, dropping the third game of the series on the road.

The Titans take the lead in the series at 2-1. The Otters will have to win back-to-back games on the road in Canada’s capital to take their third championship.

The Frontier League Championship Series continues tomorrow, as Game Four against the Ottawa Titans starts at 6:00 p.m. CT at Ottawa Stadium. The Otters are two wins away from their third Frontier League title and first since 2016.
