AWARDS | Nolan Thebiay named 2026 Fran Riordan Citizenship Award Recipient
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Evansville Otters are excited to announce the Frontier League has named Nolan Thebiay the recipient of the 2026 Fran Riordan Citizenship Award.
Selected by Frontier League general managers, coaches and media individuals, this honor proves Thebiay’s character has been seen across the league this season. The award annually honors the Frontier League’s player who best exhibits outstanding citizenship in the community, both on and off the field.
“The entire organization is proud to call Nolan an Otter,” Otters Field Manager Andy McCauley said. “This accomplishment proves his commitment not just to Otters baseball, but to the entire Evansville community.”
Thebiay has consistently put others first this season, spending major time on off-days and game days alike to go into the community and make a difference. His work this season included time at the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, Vanderburgh Humaine Society, Mesker Park Zoo, Boys & Girls Club of Evansville, the Veterans Affairs office and our annual U.S. Nike Camp.
“Having a man like Nolan at the ballpark every day makes this a better place,” Otters Director of Community Relations Nick McLean said. “We have continued to make our community impact a major focus within our organization and Nolan has helped lead these efforts this year.”
Thebiay becomes the fourth Otter to be recognized with the Fran Riordan Citizenship Award, joining L.J. Jones last year, Tyler Beardsley in 2019 and David Griffin in 2003.
The Evansville Otters are the 2006 and 2016 Frontier League champions.
The Otters play all home games at EVSC’s Historic Bosse Field, located at 23 Don Mattingly Way in Evansville, Ind. Stay up to date with the Evansville Otters by visiting evansvilleotters.com, or follow the Otters on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
