RECAP | Otters held runless in middle game
EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters (45-32) were shut out for the second straight night as they dropped game two of the series against the Washington Wild Things (53-24) on Saturday night, 2-0.
Dylan Zentko got the start for Evansville against Ben Kowalski for Washington.
The Wild Things would score in the first again, bringing in a run on an RBI double to take a 1-0 lead. They would bring in another run in the third inning on a bases-loaded walk.
Ben Kowalski would throw a season-high 6.1 innings scoreless with eight strikeouts, with the bullpen combination of Michael Foltz Jr., Mack Anglin and Landon Ginn finishing the shutout for the Wild Things.
Evansville’s bullpen was great as well. Joe Morrissey had a season-high 3.1 innings of scoreless ball with four strikeouts. Anthony Tomczak and Alex Valdez would throw scoreless innings as well to keep the Washington offense at bay.
Jack Brodsky will be making his first start since returning from the 7-day injured list tomorrow against Evansville’s Ryan Wiltse.
Evansville will try to avoid getting swept on the road tomorrow in game three against Washington starting at 3:05 p.m. CT at EQT Park.
