Evansville signs Texas A&M alum Austin Bost
Evansville, Ind– From the SEC to the Frontier League. The Evansville Otters announced Tuesday the signing of All-SEC utility player Austin Bost.
Bost shined in four years in College Station, hitting .298 in his collegiate career with 28 home runs, 137 RBIs and 141 runs over 180 starts.
A native of Groves, Texas, Bost starred during the Aggies run to the College World Series in 2022. Bost batted .360 from the plate over the season with 45 RBIs. He notched six hits including three doubles and a home run in Omaha.
Texas A&M advanced to the College World Series semifinals in 2022, their best run in program history. Bost was named all-SEC second team as a DH/utility player.
He earned the honor of wearing the #12 jersey in his final season this past spring in Aggieland. Head coach Jim Schlossnagle described Bost as a “legendary player in the history of this great program.”
Bost was named to the NCBWA Preseason All-American Second Team in 2023.
The Evansville Otters are the 2006 and 2016 Frontier League champions.
