Biography:
Wynn Pelzer is beginning his second season with the Otters after going 1-3 with a 4.44 earned run average.
Earlier in 2011, Pelzer played for three different teams. In the Atlantic League, he split time with the Bridgeport Bluefish and the Long Island Ducks. He also played in affiliated ball with the AA affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Thus far in 2012, Pelzer has accumulated a 1-2 record with a 7.99 ERA in 19 appearances.
Pelzer was originally drafted by the San Diego Padres in the ninth round of the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft out of the University of South Carolina. He spent the first two years of his professional career in the PAdres organization before moving on to the Baltimore Orioles during the 2010 season.
In his five year career, the Holy Hill, S.C. native has a 33-33 record with a 4.09 ERA.
