Otters lose to CornBelters 8-4
(EVANSVILLE, IN) – The Normal CornBelters rallied from a two run deficit to defeat the Evansville Otters 8-4 on Saturday night at Bosse Field.

A Frank Meade double in the sixth inning pushed Evansville ahead 1-0 and Greg Alexander followed with an RBI single for the two run lead.

Unfortunately for Evansville, the lead was only temporary as the Normal CornBelters rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh inning. Five more runs in the eighth inning proved to be the difference as the CornBelters won their second game in a row to start the season.

Andrew Werner started for the Otters and struck out nine batters over his 5 1/3 innings pitched. The lefty did not allow a run as he battled against Normal starter Dan Blewett to keep the game scoreless.

Frank Meade led the Evansville Otters at the plate with a 2 for 4 performance with a run and an RBI. The Otters committed six errors in the game and left thirteen runners on base.

The two teams will conclude the three-game weekend series tomorrow with a day game at 1:05 PM CST. It is Custom Recreation Customer Appreciation Day at Bosse Field.

Fans can call the team’s office at (812) 435-8686 or stop by Bosse Field at 1701 N. Main Street in Evansville for tickets.

The game can also be heard on the radio beginning at 12:50 PM on WUEV 91.5 FM. Mike Radomski will have the play-by-play for the game with Bill McKeon providing the color commentary.
