(WASHINGTON, PENNSYLVANIA) - Starting pitcher
Bryce Morrow allowed just a single run over 7.0 innings as the Evansville Otters defeated the Washington Wild Things 6-1 on Monday night.

After a scoreless first inning from Morrow, Evansville rallied to score three runs in the top of the second inning. Outfielder
Runey Davis returned from an injured heel to hit a leadoff triple and scored as fellow outfielder
DeAngelo Mack hit a bouncing single to right field. Later in the inning, another outfielder,
Matt Sheely, would hit a two-run home run to left field. It was his second home run of the season as Evansville led 3-0.
Trailing by three runs, Washington rallied back to score on a safety squeeze bunt in the bottom of the inning only to see the Otters rally again.
Ahead 3-1, catcher
Brett Chamberlain added to the lead with an RBI single in the fourth and came through again with another run-producing single in the eighth.
Leading by five runs, relievers
Patrick Crider and
Nick Montgomery would each pitch a scoreless inning as the Otters prevailed in the 6-1 win.
The Evansville Otters are now 23-29 this season as the Washington Wild Things fall to 19-32.
Morrow (5-4) gave up just five hits in his 7.0 innings. Washington starter Justin Hall (2-5) takes the loss after yielding four runs in 7.0 innings.
Chamberlain, Davis, and Mack each had two hits in the game. Sheely and Chamberlain also finished with two runs batted as well.
Evansville will look to win the series on Tuesday with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch at Consol Energy Park. Left-hander
Matt Crim (1-6, 4.53 Earned Run Average) will start for the Otters as he will be facing off against righty Eric Blackwell (2-3, 9.62).
