03/10/2010 3:26 PM - Jorge Lugo, a lefthanded starter from Venezuela, has signed a 2010 contract with the Evansville Otters.
Lugo, 26, spent three years in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ system before he was released after the 2003 season. He returned to professional baseball in 2007, when he was 5-5 with a 3.97 ERA in 14 starts with Amarillo of the United League. Lugo was 3-4 with a 3.78 ERA in 12 starts with Harlingen of the United League in 2008. Last season, Lugo pitched in four games with Shreveport of the American Association.
