OTTERS SIGN ITHACA ACE
Right-handed pitcher Nick Sottung, who compiled a 31-10 career record in four years at Division III Ithaca College, has signed a 2010 contract with the Evansville Otters.
Last year as a rookie with Texarkana of the Continental Baseball League, Sottung was 8-2 in 14 games as a starter with a 2.84 ERA. The Pulaski, N.Y., native also appeared in two games for Sioux City of the American Association in 2009.
Sottung, 23, was 8-2 with a 1.88 ERA in 14 games as a senior at Ithaca in 2008. In 12 games with Green Bay of the Northwood’s League in the summer of 2007, Sottung was 3-4 with a 3.97 ERA. |
