The Otters jumped ahead 1-0 only to see the RiverHawks rally for three runs in the second.

Evansville was able to surge back as well with an unearned run in the fourth and another three runs in the sixth inning.

Trailing 7-5, Rockford then battled back to score another four runs in the next half inning.

The Otters reciprocated with a run in the bottom of the seventh. Designated hitter Luis Parache hit a lead-off single and scored later in the inning on a bases loaded walk to Killian.

After relievers David Kubiak and Patrick Crider combined to throw a scoreless top of the eighth, Black hit a single to lead off the bottom of the inning. He then stole second and advanced to third on a ground out from Parache. With Schwaner at the plate, Black scored on a passed ball from Van Horn to tie the game at 7-7.

The game continued to the top of the tenth inning. Outfielder Michael Hur had a lead-off double and scored later in the inning on a Devin Sheppard sacrifice fly.

Down 8-7, Evansville was unable to mount a comeback in the bottom of the ninth, losing by that score.

The RiverHawks win the series, improving to 21-29 as the Otters are currently 22-29.

Evansville will now travel on the road to begin a three-game series at Washington tomorrow. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. EDT from Pennsylvania.
